2024 favorites
January 13, 2025
If you have been around for a moment, you know I love a good list, so here I am, coming at you with a list of all my favorites of 2024, and why I loved them!
Authors:
Allison Saft - she is a fantastic world builder, creates magic that feels believable, and friendships and relationships that have depth.
Sarah Hogle - she is hilarious, and creates romances that feel deep and relatable. I have never been someone who loves a romance novel, but Sarahs writing made me change my mind
Graphic Novels:
Garlic and the Witch or Garlic and the Vampire by Bree Paulsen
Anything K. O’Neal has been a part of
Musicians:
Lizzy McAlpine - her music makes me feel and I love the way it sounds
Wild Rivers - their music and deep and aching and has a wonderful way of telling a story poetically and melodically
Movies:
Wicked - honestly, this is going to be a hard one to top. I saw this when I was in college, in New York, on Broadway, and it was magical. This movie captured all the magic and I simply cannot wait for November to see the other half.
Blink Twice - it was so twisted and scary and unpredictable.
Show/Series:
Arcane - beautiful, haunting, vibrant, and full of in depth storyline
Heartstopper - i simply just adore this show and wish it had been around when I was a teenager
Hobbies:
Writing - I feel like this one is a little obvious
Reading - I have really fallen in love with stories and story tellers. this is something I plan on cultivating for many years to come.
Gifts to Give:
Jellycats - I have recently found out that they are an even better company than I though they were, and honestly, we don’t receive enough stuffed animals as adults
Books - there are so many ways to make this personal with what you choose to give and it is a wonderful hobby to lean into for many reasons
Colors:
Green - honestly any shade. it is just so soothing and there are so many good shades that remind me of grass and fresh air, or Christmas trees and wreaths, or grapes and squash.
Brown - I love the color of coffee in the morning and warm, damp, earth in the summer. I love the color of bark on trees and warm cookies fresh from the oven. it is soothing and warm and gentle
Aesthetics:
Cottagecore - I could not want my life to be more cottage-y and I love ( and hate) that this is so in style, and hand in hand with this, I love the English countryside look
Nordic - I love the coziness
I am eager to see what changes and what stays the same in about a year when I do this again. What will I love in 2025?
