Show Reivew: Arcane

I am not even sure what to say except that this was so beautifully done. The lighting, the camera work, the coloring…it all makes me feel like I want to play League of Legends even though it is not a game that I care to get into.

We enter the second season with very little grace, but rather, tumble back into the storyline as if no time has passed. So, maybe do a little rewatching if you want to be up to speed. And the world is in complete and utter chaos. I do not really know how to describe the plot, and really do not want to give anything away, so I will just say that we are still following the story of Jinx, Violet, Caitlin and Ekko among many others.

The characters are so flawed and hard to love, but are also so real and it is so easy to want to cheer them on, even when things are all going wrong. I genuinely hope that they make more shows like this, and in this universe, because I so enjoyed the depth of the story as well as the jaw dropping beauty of the animation. They confirmed that they are finished with this show, but with all the talk about it, I feel that it is fairly likely that they will make more from this universe. One can hope.

I suggest this show for anyone who is an art lover, even if you are not a game lover, because this is a work of art as well as an entraining show. It touches on grief and loss, love and loyalty, family and friendship, and inner turmoil. It is wildly creative and completely captivating.
