Book Review: Taproot by Keezy Young

August 21, 2024

I will be honest, I read this right after Mamo, and I was a little disappointed. I have noticed lately that there are a lot of graphic novels that, I assume due to lack of funding, have pretty big holes in the plot or storyline, and this book was no exception.

We follow the story of a ghost named Blue and the boy he is in love with, Hamal. Hamal can see ghosts and Blue happened upon him when he was lonely after death, and wandering. Hamal is a gardener and loves all things plants and bugs.

While there are a lot of plot holes and I feel like I am missing pages, this is still a cute book, but I am not sure I would suggest it.
