Book Review: Freshman Year by Sarah Mai

March 27, 2024

I loved this book. I laughed the whole time about how much Sarah and I had in common during our freshman year of college.

This book, as you could expect, took place during Sarahs first year of college and throughout the year, she struggles with the loss of her high school self, the changing of the relationships she once had and finding herself in the world outside of her hometown. She is sad to be leaving the life behind she once knew, but also excited about what the future holds. It is a coming of age story filled with heartache and hope.

Not only is this a great story of how the author felt like her freshman year went, it is also absolutely adorable. I love the style of the illustration, and the way the story was formatted really made it such a quick read.

I highly suggest this book to anyone.
