A Week From Today

A week from today I will be at my dress rehearsal. I will be wearing a white dress that I bought because it reminded me of the dress that Ariel wore as she got out of the water in The Little Mermaid ( 1989 ). I will have seen the new Little Mermaid the evening before. I will be wearing my little white shoes with the buckle around the ankle. I will have my hair curled and my make up done. I will have my nails done and all of the projects I said I was going to accomplish before the wedding finished.

A week from today I will have had my last day at the gallery I have been working at since 2019. I will have said my goodbyes and see you laters. I will have given back my key and computer.

A week from today I will be going to bed early. I will be wearing my white strips on my teeth and gold eye masks to ensure that I have white teeth and minimal eye bags. I will be gathering all of the things I need for the next day and buying any last minute gifts I want to give. I will be snuggling my puppy, because after I leave her in the morning I won’t see her for a couple of days. I will be getting an overnight bag ready for the hotel my husband and I will share the night of our wedding where we will stay up late reliving one of the biggest days of our lives. I will have spilled my heart to him with all of the flowery words I can muster. I know I will never feel like the words I say will ever come close to the amount of love I have for him.
