Uncertainty in the Midst of 2020

September 16, 2020

There is something bursting inside of me. Like fireworks and confetti. Maybe it’s anxiety. Maybe it’s excitement.

The future has never been certain, but it’s never been quite so uncertain.

In elementary school you knew you’d be in school for a while. In middle school you were trying to find yourself and fumble through puberty with the most amount of grace as possible. In high school you knew you were preparing for college. In college you are looking ahead to the life you’re going to live once you graduate.

Life has a funny way of not being what you expect it to be.

This year could not have been expected, predicted or dreamed up by even the most creative of writers. The earth is crumbling and it’s trying desperately to hold onto all the little pieces as they slip through its fingertips like sand.
