The Way Things Were - An Open Letter To Lost Friendships

October 12, 2020

It hits me at weird times;

missing you.

I’ll be doing my best to think of nothing,

and there you are,

popping back into my head.

And there are many things I don’t miss.

And many things you taught me along the way

it was simpler back then.

we thought we were in the worst of it,

and I think that’s what gets me

Because we didn’t have a clue.

it’s funny how time changes things,

And how chaotic is felt

but how sweet it was.

Maybe it’s just that it’s a memory.

They’re always sweeter looking back.

I find myself missing you more and more these days

will I ever find you again?
