Show Review: The Dragon Price: Mysteries of Arravos

January 22, 2025

I want to start by saying that this is a children’s show, and that it is suitable for young children and I will say that I do not agree. There are some pretty dark themes and a lot of death, betrayal, loss, and grief. It was a very good show, but not meant for children.

We follow the story of two young royals, in a magical world, named Ezran and Callum. The young princes are already mourning the loss of their mother a couple years before the show begins, when their kingdom gets attacked and their father is murdered by elf assassins. They go on adventures to save their kingdom, to save their friends, and to make their world be a little more harmonious in spite of deep laden hatred.

This review is going to be a little short because I don’t want to give too much of the story away because there are many an unexpected twist. I suggest it to people who liked the Avatar series because it feels like a bit of a knock off, especially because Callum is voiced by the same man as Sokka. Which Eli and I found hilarious. There are times during the show that it sounds like Sokka is playing a character in a different show. They are very similar characters, both lovable and often unexpectedly brilliant.
