Show Review: Queen Charolette ( A Bridgerton Story )

May 9, 2023

This show came out just a few days ago on Netflix and Eli and I completely devoured this short series. I have loved all of the Bridgerton stories this far, but this is by far my favorite.

This show was beautifully written and effortlessly bounced between timelines. You get to know Queen Charlotte and King George III as they meet, fall in love and wed and then see them through the struggles of their relationship in their earlier years, and are still keeping up with her as the Queen we know her as in Bridgerton. This bouncing around the timeline could have been very confusing, but it is done brilliantly. Queen Charlotte is brilliantly cast and India Ria Amarteifio, the actress who plays young Charlotte, has very obviously spent an abundance of time with the older version of herself, Golda Rosheuvel. India has mastered the mannerisms Golda’s has built into the role and it makes the casting choice all the more believable.

King George III, played by Corey Mylchreest, is handsome and charismatic and has incredible chemistry with India Ria Amarteifio. Their love feels real and palpable.

Theirs is not the only romance that we witness in the show. I don’t want to give too much away, in case you are reading this before watching the show, but the romance is very well casted and very well acted. You will have to go watch to see the overwhelming amount of love and why this is my favorite Bridgerton season so far.
