Show Review: Bee and Puppycat

April 5, 2024

This is my second time through the show and it is wild. It is a fever dream of a show. It feels like what lowfi would be if it was a show. It is cozy and adventurous and wild.

I really don’t know how to tell you what this show is about, but we follow the adventures of a young woman named Bee and her pet: Puppycat. At the beginning of the show, we see Bee lose her job. She is in need of a new job in order to pay for the studio apartment she rents out from the upstairs of a house. The first level belongs to the landlord: a young boy named Cardamom that couldn’t be more than eight years old. What I assume is the second floor, belongs to a group of siblings that own a cat cafe the Bee gets fired from. While she is no longer allowed to work at the cafe, she is still friends with the siblings.

In order to make money, Bee and Puppycat go to other planets to help them with their chores and tasks. They make many friends and enemies along the way and you learn more about both Bee and Puppycat and that neither of them are really what they seem.

The animation is lovely and cozy in a very nostalgic way. It is colorful and playful. I highly suggest this show!
