Movie Review: Girl Haunts Boy

November 15, 2024

We follow the story of a young boy named Cole who moves into a home with his mom after the sudden loss of his father. He is having a hard time coping with it, and with the fact that it feels as though everything in his life is changing at the same time, when he happens to find a trap door in the back of his closet. Inside the little compartment, he finds a photo album of a beautiful young woman, who just so happens to be haunting his house.

This is a tale of love and loss and the beauty of letting go. Grief and family are both huge themes throughout the story, as is falling in love with the right person, even while they are in the wrong time.

The main actress in this film, Peyton List, was also in School Spirits, and was a ghost in that show as well, so I think she may have inserted into a bit of a niche. But her chemistry with her love interest, Michael Cimino, was believable and sweet. I am not sure if that was due to her, but Michael was the sweetest love interest. Anyway, I loved this movie and I cried at the end and I suggest this to anyone who wants a spooky love story that is perfect for spooky season.
