I think I May Have Just Found My Style
February 5, 2025
As I am working on my current collection, I have never felt so much like I am making something for me - that I would want to buy, that I would see and say “yeah, that needs to come home with me” until this collection. What had started as me playing around with some pieces had I had made in my sketchbook, has morphed into a collection that I am really freaking proud of.
A while back, I purchased a bunch of little 4x4 canvases because they were on sale and too cute and little for me to pass them up. I tried in the summer to make a collection themed around the season ( which, if you have read this blog at all in the summer months, you know I am not terribly fond of the season ) and failed instantly. I set the little canvases aside and didn’t think much of them for months. I am not sure what made me think of them again, but I was working on the next collection ( or what I thought the next collection would be ) and remembered I still had plenty of these little canvases I could use. I thought through the possibilities and spent a lot of time on pinterest, and decided on a direction to go. These pieces I am so excited about, are mixed media, and I haven’t seen another artist use these two together in this way, and you know that makes my little enneagram 4 heart soar.
I so do not want to give too much away, but I will tell you there will be four smaller pieces, and at least one larger piece in this collection ( if not more, because I am really hyped about this ) and the four smaller pieces have landscapes that are supposed to depict the seasons. One in summer, one in spring, one in autumn, and one in winter.
I really hope you are as excited about this collection as I am once it drops. Or maybe I hope no one likes it so I can keep the whole collection to myself. I am not sure yet. Either way, make sure you are on the mailing list, so I can send you sneak peeks as they come!
