Book(s) Review: The Wicked and the Divine ( 1-3 )

July 26, 2024

Okay, so I might be in a phase of finding my last name in all the titles I can for books, but this one was suggested to me by my cousin and I’ll be honest, I am not sure I liked it.

She and I were talking about how we both really love graphic novels and she said she just adored this series, and I am very sad to say, I think we just don’t have the same taste.

When we jump into the story, we are finding out that there are these gods that have been resurfaced and re-come-to-life in another person. Apparently this happens every 70 years and this woman, Aneka, has to find them all and bring them together. I don’t know why, I don’t know who she is, I don’t know why they resurface and I don’t understand why they all have to die within two years of learning that they are the gods, but they do.

Maybe I would learn this later on in the series, but it is graphic, intense and confusing and I am in a reading phase where I kind of need other things from my books.

Anyway, I am not sure if I suggest these or not. They are lovely and thought provoking but I just don’t think they’re for me, at least at this point in time.
