Book Review: Aquicorn Cove by K. O’Neill

April 24, 2024

If you couldn’t tell by this point, I am a huge fan of K. O’Neill. They have such magical stories and beautiful illustrations that don’t shy away from tough topics and inclusivity.

This is such a lovely book from K. but much like some of their other books, I wish they gave me more. I wish had I more of a backstory. They have such wonderful stories with so much depth, they really could be much larger than they are. But really, that is my only complaint.

The story follows Lana, her father and her aunt Mae. There was a large storm on the island that Lana grew up on, and only recently moved away from and she and her father arrived to help with the clean up. Just a year before, she and her father moved away from the island because it was too painful to be in the place that they lived when Lana’s mother was alive. Over the corse of the book, K. talks about ocean preservation and how important it is to look after the world that we live on.

It is a great book for all ages and I highly suggest it.
