Window Shades on Airplanes

The oceans of fluffy white clouds break against the crisp blue sky. Shimmering pools of gold from below the surface leave spots in your vision as they crash through the waves. The gentle purr of the engine rumbles beneath your feet and lulls you toward relaxation.

It’s amazing how small the world seems when you’re wheeling through the sky; bursting through the clouds with reckless abandonment and effortless grace.

Busses are barely the size of breath-mints and houses the size of computer chips. Little rivers tearing their way through the mountainous canvas below and leaving the edges green in their wake. Gray trees dusting the ripples, as if hair was beginning to sprout on a newborns head. Everything is vast and misty, almost dreamlike, making you forget where you were and where you’re headed. Just for a moment you’re here. Just for a moment you can take this all in. Just for a moment, as you’re looking through window shades on airplanes
