Looking Forward

July 19, 2024

I cannot tell you how excited I am for fall this year. I am always excited for the change of seasons ( minus maybe summer, if I am being honest, I am really not a fan ) but this year feels especially exciting. I don’t have a lot that is really happening, and that might even be part of the reason that I am so excited for it this year.

This past spring was possibly one of the busiest seasons of my life, and I am not really sure how I ended up with so much going on, but this summer has been so sweet so far in getting to spend some time reading, and watching shows and movies and just allowing myself to relax a little. As I am writing this, I am already planning on spending the rest of the afternoon at the pool with my book. And I am so excited that I am going to be spending this next season so close to the mountains and so filled with things that I want to do.

So here are some fun things that are going to be happening ( or I am planning on planning ) these next couple of seasons.

  • we are going to go camping in the foothills near our home

  • we are going to go to a cat festival that is held in the springs every year

  • we are going to go to lots of soccer games and eat lots of popcorn

  • we are going to go to my brother and his wife’s baby shower

  • we are going to visit Eli’s brother, sister-in-law and our nephew

  • we are going to visit a state neither of us have been to

  • we are going to go to the beach

  • we are going to see family

  • we are going to drink a lot of hot chocolate

  • we are going to be able to see the leaves change in the foothills

  • we are going to watch spooky movies in our new apartment

  • we are going to make this apartment feel like home

  • we are going to try out new places to eat and places to get coffee

  • we are going to swim in the pool until it is too cold to do so, then we are going to sit in the hot tub with our winter hats on

  • we are going to visit as many small Colorado towns as we can that have Christmas lights up

  • we are going to go home for Christmas and celebrate with those we love

It is going to be a wonderful second half of the year. I am confident of it.
