As The Summer Comes To A Close

August 28, 2023

As summer is coming to a close I am trying to reflect on the way that I have filled my time and how I want the next season to go.

Summer has been a season of change and growth. I have learned a lot about myself and about my relationships with those I love the most. I am no longer living where I spent my childhood and young adulthood but am off starting a new adventure a couple of states away. There is so much to explore here that I haven’t gotten the chance to yet because of the heat, but there is so much to look foreword to.

This summer has made me feel both lost and found. It has been a time of great companionship and loneliness. It has been polarizing in the sweetest ways and I am so happy to have been taught by its season.

I have learned the lifestyle that I want to cultivate and have felt like I am taking steps toward it. I have learned ( yet again, I am not sure when it will stick ) that I love rituals and routines, especially in the morning. I have fallen in love with matcha and want it in everything. I have rediscovered things I am interested in such as psychology and botany. I have learned a lot about plants and where they thrive. I have been humbled and kissed by the sun. I have strained my muscles and grew in strength. I have ended my many year hatred of blue. I have developed a love for cozy video games.

It has been such a sweet season and I am so excited to see what is ahead.

I am so excited for autumn to arrive. I am so excited for the leaves to change and everything to be pumpkin spice flavored. I am excited to start planning for Christmas and reading good books that make me feel cozy and connected. I am excited to pull my sweaters out again and drinking hot cocoa by the gallon. I am so excited for the season to come.
